THEOLOGICAL ROUNDTABLE
Noon on the third Wednesday of each month starting Wednesday, Sept. 15th in the Ryther Room |
The Swiss theologian Karl Barth advised people of faith to: “take your Bible and take your newspaper, and read both. But interpret newspapers from your Bible.” Karl understood the importance of experiencing the world through a holy lens, and though he had strong opinions about what he read in the newspaper and what he read in the Bible, he was open to hearing how others experienced that intersection.
On the third Wednesday of each month you are invited to join Todd in the Ryther room at noon for conversation about how those worlds inform each other. All you need to bring is a bag lunch (we’ll provide lemonade and coffee), your Bible, and a newspaper (or magazine, or nook, or...), and a desire to explore. Discussion will be directed by what you bring, so don’t be shy. We will begin each roundtable with the reading of our relational covenant, so our conversations are sure to be holy and wholesome. The Theological Roundtables will last one hour.
